We are looking for our production site Merlin in Bornheim for a Working Student R&D (m/f/d) in part-time (16-20 hours per week)

We are seeking a highly motivated and committed working student to support our Research & Development department in the field of Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST) in Bornheim, Germany. This purely research-focused role provides the opportunity to contribute to the development and optimisation of AST methods in accordance with ISO 20776 (broth microdilution standard for AST) and ISO 13485 quality requirements.

Aufgaben/Verantwortlichkeiten
  • Design, execution, and evaluation of microbiological experiments related to AST method development and optimisation
  • Draft experimental plans, accurately record laboratory results, and prepare structured technical reports in line with Bruker’s standards
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving in laboratory experiments with guidance from senior researchers
  • Maintenance and servicing of laboratory equipment and materials
  • Active collaboration and open communication within the R&D team
Qualifikationen
  • Enrolled student (m/f/d) in microbiology or a related life science discipline
  • Solid knowledge of basic microbiology (theory and laboratory techniques)
  • Reliable time management and ability to work on consecutive weekdays
  • Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • High motivation and commitment to quality research work
  • Advantageous: Prior knowledge of AST techniques
