Junior QA Engineer - Working Student (m/f/d)
Founded in 1921, OLDENDORFF CARRIERS combines its history as a German shipowner with the network of one of the world’s leading drybulk operators. We currently control some 700 chartered and owned vessels of 40 mio tdw, and we carry around 380 mio tons of raw materials and semi-finished products across the seven seas each year. In the past three years, Oldendorff has invested considerable effort into modernizing and enhancing its IT landscape to state-of-the-art standards. This progress has paved the way for the creation of our Data and Analytics Department in October 2024. With a talented team of software engineers already onboard, we are now looking to expand our team to further develop, optimize, and maintain our application ecosystem. As data and AI become increasingly important to our business strategy, the collaboration between Software Engineering and Analytics is crucial to building innovative solutions that support data-driven, decision-making and intelligent automation. By integrating software development with analytical insights, we aim to harness the full potential of technology to maintain our market leadership and progress towards our goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
Job responsibilities
- Supporting quality assurance for our software products
- Performing manual and automated testing of features and bug fixes
- Creating, executing, and documenting test cases
- Collaborating with Product Specialists and Managers
- Identifying and tracking issues in our ticket system
- Assisting in the introduction and enhancement of test automation
What you bring along
- Studying Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field
- Initial experience in software development or quality assurance (e.g., through internships, working student positions, or personal projects)
- Structured and detail-oriented work approach
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Beneficial:
- Experience with Jira and agile development processes
- Basic knowledge of testing methods and tools (e.g., Cypress, JUnit, Postman)
- Familiarity with TypeScript, NestJS and Angular
