The Position

A healthier future. It’s what drives us to innovate. To continuously advance science and ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need today and for generations to come. Creating a world where we all have more time with the people we love.

That’s what makes us Roche.

Our Global Internship Programme in Innovation & Sustainability (#IP2TIS)  offers a unique opportunity for passionate individuals to gain hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical industry while making a positive impact on the world.

Are you ready to join a global network spanning 20+ countries, where bright minds collaborate to tackle real-world challenges in Innovation & Sustainability? Do you want to work on impactful projects, shape the future , and drive change from within?

The Opportunity

Join the Insights & Solutions (I&S) team within Global Procurement to push internal innovation and increase efficiency in our supply chain!

I&S is a dynamic team focusing on co-creating and developing technical solutions for complex business challenges and opportunities. These challenges may be addressed by the implementation of digitized and digitalized labs, by increasing the buying experience and improving researchers’ activities.

We are looking for one Market Solution Intern to join a project about reuse and recycle of consumables in laboratory spaces. The internal demand for plastics and consumables is high, resulting in spending and sustainability impact on Type 1 and 3 emissions as well as waste. Different companies offer the possibility to reduce this impact by creating solutions for the reuse and recycle of lab consumables.

This project will focus on:

  • Evaluating the current market offering in the area of reuse and recycle of lab consumables

  • Understanding current activities of the different Roche organizations regarding this idea

  • Creating an operating strategy to move forward for global implementation

You will get in contact with a variety of business organizations within and outside Roche and will learn how to shape a project and pitch it to different stakeholders.

Who You Are

You are enrolled or have completed your Master’s studies at a university, preferably in the field of process engineering, mechanical engineering or Business administration (comparable curricula will be also taken into consideration) within the last 12 months.

You possess:

  • Self motivation, enthusiasm and ability to work independently (mandatory)

  • Sufficient written and spoken English language skills (mandatory). German and other languages are a plus.

  • A background and/or strong interest in sustainability (desirable but not mandatory)

  • Interest or previous experiences in laboratory practices in regulated environments (desirable but not mandatory)

  • You are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months and getting to know the pharmaceutical industry.

If you meet most but not all qualifications, we still encourage you to apply. Together we  will make it happen!
