We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of Cloud-Based Image Processing for Autonomous Driving. As part of our innovative project team, you will collaborate closely with feature teams to develop sophisticated functions for advanced autonomous driving and work on the next-generation integration platform, focusing on cloud-based image signal processing for future BMW vehicles.

What awaits you?

• As part of your internship, you will define and run simulations for in-car image-processing functions on the BMW Cloud (built on AWS).
• You will create simulation input data by utilizing existing tools and enhance them as needed.
• During simulation execution, you will monitor processes, collect logs, analyze accuracy and performance, and compile comprehensive reports.
• Your results will be shared in regular internal and external meetings, contributing to informed decision-making.
• You will perform in-depth analyses of bug reports, identifying causes and recommending solutions.
• Acting as the first point of contact, you will address questions related to simulation setup and results, helping BMW internal teams interpret and apply findings effectively.

What should you bring along? 

• You are pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• You possess strong knowledge of Python, Bash scripting, Bazel, and Linux operating systems.
• Your skills include proficiency in C++ and multi-threaded programming.
• Ideally, you have experience in image processing and a solid understanding of the AWS ecosystem (EC2, S3, Kubernetes, Argo, and HPC concepts).
