ABOUT OUR TEAM AND YOUR ROLE

We are looking for a Junior Business Analyst (m/f/d) who is motivated to support the growth of the ABOUT YOU Outlet, an online shopping club with a dedicated app and website. Every day, new deals go live lasting for seven days. During that time, customers can shop from a discounted selection of products. 

The Outlet team consists of three core functions: 1) Tech & Product, 2) Marketing & CRM, and 3) Business Development & Supply Side. We are a young and international team who work together in a modern office in the heart of Hamburg’s city center. As our Junior Business Analyst (m/f/d) you will be a key enabler for stakeholders in Marketing, Pricing, and Deal Planning, driving impact by translating data into actionable insights and taking ownership of projects that enhance our customer experience, supply- and shop operations. The work you do will have an immediate impact on the success of the ABOUT YOU Outlet. This role offers you the opportunity to experience first-hand the fast-paced environment of fashion, e-commerce and tech in an international team. 

The position is a fixed-term role to cover parental leave.
Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will encompass a mix of analytical and project management tasks, all centered around data-driven solutions to improve our shop operations and customer journey. This includes:

• Developing a strong technical understanding of various operational planning, pricing and shop processes in order to evaluate opportunities and challenges and derive meaningful actions
• Managing projects end-to-end including conceptualisation, business cases, project setup, project steering, and implementation with cross-functional stakeholders
• Enhancing and driving the implementation of automated business processes
• Providing valuable input in strategy reviews and providing frameworks to ensure high quality discussions by collaborating with stakeholders such as our Marketing & Tech and Business & Planning Team
• Ensuring a seamless shop experience through quality assurance and enablement

You will be expected to take full ownership for the tasks you work on. While you will work independently, your team members will always be there to support you. As the Outlet is a relatively new endeavor, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of topics and get to know the ins and outs of running and scaling an e-commerce shop first-hand.

Requirements

• Strong academic record and degree Business Analytics, Business Informatics, Economics or other disciplines with strong quantitative focus
• 1-2 years of professional experience in a comparable position (includes internships, working student positions, dual study programs)
• Very good English skills
• SQL skills is a plus
• Excellent analytical thinking, a passion for working with numbers, and the ability to deliver thoughtful solutions based on data analyses
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex analytical findings in a clear and actionable manner
• Finally, you should be curious to learn about new topics with a strong intrinsic motivation to work hands on in a fast-moving scale-up environment
